Expressive Emojis for Polaroid

In 2016, Polaroid created a new camera enabling users to decorate photos on-screen before printing them.

I worked with the trend forecasting company Proef to identify key themes, colors and styles appealing to their target audience: Millennials. Using our research as inspiration, I executed several large groups of backgrounds, illustrations and textures users loved.

Research

Before creating assets for the product we researched emerging trends in art, fashion and philosophy connecting the target demographic to the product. We studied themes and gathered images into concrete directions.

Using customer insight I created groups of themes emojis in a variety of styles to be used as decorative elements.
